Stiris Research Inc. Awarded Phase I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Trial
Stiris Research (“Stiris”) an entrepreneurial clinical trial management company focused on the management of Phase I-IIIB trials, today announces the award of a Phase I Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) study.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to work on this new clinical trial in NSCLC. This promising research aims to advance our understanding of an innovative approach and its potential to improve patient outcomes!” said Urszula Bartlomiejska, Manager, Clinical Operations.
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is any type of epithelial lung cancer other than small cell lung cancer (SCLC). NSCLC arises from the epithelial cells of the lung of the central bronchi to terminal alveoli. The histological type of NSCLC correlates with site of origin, reflecting the variation in respiratory tract epithelium of the bronchi to alveoli. Patients with locally advanced unresectable disease may achieve long-term survival with radiation therapy combined with chemotherapy. Patients with advanced metastatic disease may achieve improved survival and palliation of symptoms with chemotherapy, targeted agents, and other supportive measures.
